Rhythm helps children learn to read

Sophie spotted a great article in the news last week about how scientists now think that rhythm and music can help children learn to speak and even to read! It follows research into the correlation between the ability to keep a beat and neural responsiveness to sound and language. Have a look at our article about the research on the website which goes into more details. And be really proud of the fact that all the great stuff you do each week in class with the children, such beat competency, dancing, singing etc is so beneficial for young children. And of course don’t forget to share the news with your mums!

If anyone else spots any news items about music, dance, movement, children, babies etc – please share!
