Knee bouncing songs have been a source of joy for small children for centuries. The rhythmic nature of the movements also helps babies and small children to feel and understand rhythm. A good sense of rhythm helps language development and also motor skills.

How it works


What to do in the class

Introduce the song. Explain the idea is to concentrate on rhythmic movements. Play the song using the choreographed actions

You can use any rhythmic song you know but here are some suggestions:-

  • Ten Galloping Horses
  • The Grandfather Clock
  • The Ponies are walking
  • What shall we do with the Bouncing Baby?
  • This is the way the Ladies Ride
  • Shoe the Little Horse
  • Horsey Horsey
  • Father and Mother and Uncle Tom
